What is Zero Liquid Discharge?

Zero Liquid Discharge, or ZLD, is a wastewater treatment strategy that aims to recover reusable water and eliminate liquid waste discharge. Industrial ZLD systems often combine pretreatment, membrane separation, evaporation and crystallization.

Where ZLD is used

ZLD is common in textile, pharmaceutical, chemical and high TDS industrial wastewater applications where discharge norms are strict or water reuse is valuable.
